ENTRANCE EXAMS IIT JEE (Mains + Advanced)

IIT-JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is the single national level entrance conducted from the year 2013 for all students who seek admission in central engineering institutions i.e. IITs, NIITs, IIITs and IISERs.

EXAMINATION PATTERN OF JEE MAINS

Paper I for admission into B.E/B. Tech. It comprises of 3 sections - Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. This is an objective type question paper with a total of 90 questions from 3 sections and all the questions will carry 4 marks each. The duration of the exam is 3 hours.

Paper II for admission into B.Arch. / B. Planning. It consists of 82 questions where Mathematics and Aptitude section holds 80 questions of 4 marks each and drawing section includes two questions of 70 marks in total. The duration of the exam is 3 hours.

EXAMINATION PATTERN of JEE Advance

JEE Advance unlike JEE Mains, JEE Advance has a different paper pattern. In JEE Mains, there are only multiple choice questions, whereas in JEE Advance, there are 3 different ways/modes of questions asked, viz

  • Section 1: Numerical Answer Type
  • Section2: Multiple Choice Questions
  • Section3: Match the following(Paper 1), Paragraph type questions(Paper 2)

QUALIFYING MARKS

The qualifying examination will be of Class-XII from any national/state or "approved" international board. 40% marks in Class XII and student must have studied subjects like Physics, Chemistry & Maths in class XII.

BITSAT :

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, is a deemed University which offers degree in engineering courses at its Pilani and Goa campus. Since 2005, BITS has introduced an entrance test – ‘BITS Admission Test' (BITSAT) for admission to its Degree Engineering Programs

Eligibility for BITSAT :

BITSAT requires students to have appeared in 10+2 or its equivalent examinations and must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with a minimum 60% of marks in each subjects.

EXAMINATION PATTERN BIRLA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY & SCIENCE (BITS):

Admission test question paper consists of 4 parts. Physics in Part-I contains 40 questions; Chemistry in Part-II contains 40 questions; Part-III contains two sub-sections: (a) English proficiency-15 questions & (b) Logical reasoning-10 questions and Mathematics/Biology in Part-IV contains 45 questions. Total no of questions are 150. Each question carries 3 marks. There is also (-1) negative marking. Duration of test is 3 hrs. Max. Mark is 450. Test will be conducted through online mode

VITEEE:

Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) question paper consists of 3 parts - Part-I: Physics, Part-II: Chemistry and Part-III: Mathematics/Biology. Each part contains 40 questions with equal weight-age. The total number of questions are 120. Each question carries 1 mark. Duration of test is 2.5 hrs. Max. Mark is 120. Test will be conducted through online mode.
